Elementor Pro

Elementor Pro is the #1 page builder for WordPress Websites. With Elementor Pro, I can make you a gorgeously designed fully responsive and custom website template. This Plugin normally cost $49 a year to maintain, but with FoCo Web Design, you get this installation as part of this package deal, and you don't have to pay each year to keep it installed. This plugin makes it a breeze for the owner/manager of the website to maintain any future changes as well. The process is intuitive for my clients, and the tutorial video I create goes over how to use certain features of Elementor pro, placing the power in your hands to maintain and manage the site.

Fully Responsive Website

Each website by FoCo Web Design is fully responsive on every device type. In other words, the website will look great regardless of the screen size. Googles 'Mobile First Initiative' ranks websites higher on search engines if they are responsive to a mobile device.

CSS

Cascading Style Sheets (css) is a language I use to change the design of any element on the screen. On average, between 200-500 lines of CSS code will be added to the website to modify the position, color, shadows, movements/animations, and more. The advantage of having a designer who can implement CSS means they will have total control over everything view-able on the screen. In other words, you are not just at mercy of whatever template you choose, it can all be adjusted and changed.

New Email & Gmail

The best way to set up your contact form is to make a new email address connected to your hosting account so you can include your new domain name in your email address. For example. yourname@yourdomain.com.

However, instead of being at the mercy of the hosting provider email portal, (which is awkward to use) I connect that new email to a Gmail account. This way, in order to check your new mail, you only need to login to the Gmail account. This same email is then used to connect your google business account, and google analytics account. Having it all on one dedicated email for your new website

Google Analytics Account

It's important to keep a close eye on all your traffic. So I connect your website to Google Analytics to track all the traffic on the site. This data includes the locations, pages visited, bounce rate, source of the traffic, return VS new traffic and much more. This data is useful to make future changes to the site. You can understand what's working, and where it is not.

Google Business Account

Your Google Business Account is your online fingerprint for Google. When you type a company's name into Google you will see a section created by Google to show you information about that company. This will include the hours, address, as well as a button to either call or visit the website. You see the reviews here as well. On the back end of the account, you set the category your business is listed in, upload images, and set the locations and get them verified with a physical google postcard to get you officially listed.  This improves your SEO.

XML Site Maps Install

I make sure to install XML Site Maps to make sure Google, Bing and Yahoo index and archive your website on a daily basis. This helps with SEO especially if you are blogging or updating the site often.

Tutorial Video Included

Once the web site is created, I will create you a tutorial video giving you the power to make basic updates to content, update plugins, backup your website, and learn to clear your cache. Knowing these basic techniques gives you control and the ability to manage, upkeep, and expand on your site without the help of future designers. However, I am ALWAYS here for you to be able to help in the future for any changes big or small.

MailChimp Set up

MailChimp is a very powerful email and marketing tool. You can grow your subscriber list, then send mass emails to keep them all updated on any recent changes, additional services, products added, or any announcement you may have. The best part of MailChimp is, even with all this power, it is free software with the first 2,000 subscribers. I will get your Mailchimp set up, connected to your website, and show you how to use it. This is included in the Tutorial video with this plan.

Schema Markup Code

Schema markup is code that you put on your website to help the search engines return more informative results for users. It also is able to show small thumbnails in the search results next to the link, making your link stick out! Also, similarly to XML sitemaps, schema signals search engines to read the information on the page, but in a more organized, quicker, and efficient way. It is estimated that only 5% of websites currently have Schema markup code. But since it helps Web crawlers crawl sites faster and display content richer, then that is prioritized in ranking for SEO. In other words you will rank higher for having this additional bit of code on your site compared to the vast majority that do not.

Standard SEO

Standard SEO means, I am going to be installing Yoast SEO to optimize the content on each page.  Adding Keywords is one thing, but it's also very important to be writing with transition words, and minimizing stop words, and making sure the sentences are a certain length, the titles reflect the keywords, the paragraphs have the correct amount of sentences, the images are optimized with meta tags, and so much more. If you want to know more about SEO in general, please visit the SEO page.

Social Media Page Creation

I will create any social media pages you may need and link these pages to the website with icons on the header and/or footer.

Social Media Marketing Plan

Social Media Marking is the power of using social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram to generate results for your company. In short, these results can be geared towards more traffic, more conversions, more leads, or more social proof.

We use hundreds of variables to ensure we are delivering the ad to the perfect target audience to achieve the desired result.

How It Works

Facebook has what is called a pixel. This pixel ID is installed on your website, and is directly connected to your Facebook ad manager account. The pixel records all the activity of each visitor to your website as well as the actions they took while visiting the site.

After collecting enough data, the pixel will complete its learning process, optimizing the algorithms used to target the ad to the correct audience. In order to find the correct ad to run we need to create many ads with different settings at a small budget, to test to see which ones perform the best and why. We cut the ads that don’t work and scale the ones that do.  The Best way to perfect an ad, is to study the variables of all the data collected and see if there are outliers in any demographic, behavior, or device types, then adjust the settings in your ad set accordingly.

When The Magic Happens

The really exciting part of this process happens when you have perfected an ad. You have the correct ad type, targeting the right people, at the right time, with a good offer, taking them to a great landing page, and increasing conversions dramatically. At this point, all you have to do is scale the ad by increasing the amount you are spending on the ad, and your returns can be extrapolated at that rate!

I will create you a fully responsive website working beautifully on every device, with the proper aesthetics to correspond with your company. The elements on each page will adjust in size and location depending on the size of the screens device. One major problem business’ can have is a website that is hard to see on a mobile device.  At any given time, roughly 70% of  all internet traffic is mobile. A fully responsive device looks great on a desktop, tablet, and any mobile device.

Google Analytics is a free web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. You are able to see the source of the traffic, their locations, new V.S. returning traffic, time spent on each page, pages visited, bounce rate, and so much more. Google analytics is allows you to track the growth or decline for your website to give you a good idea of what you can improve on and show you what you are doing really well. The more information you have the more power you have to perfect the site.

CSS is a very powerful computer language that allows you to adjust every element on the screen. On average, I will add around 200-500 lines of CSS code to each website to give it a unique feel. In combination to CSS, Javascript, and HTML code is also utilized to create any desired result.

Proper Search Engine optimization takes a lot of work. Anyone who makes a claim to get you set up with SEO and appear on page one in the first month is a scam. The only way to really improve your search rankings is by consistently adding more content to the website, keeping it up to date, using proper keywords, transition words, avoiding stop words, using a certain amount of sentences in each paragraph, having a certain amount of paragraphs per page, images that with meta tags correctly labeled, and PATIENCE. It is also important to keep the loading time of your website below 2 seconds for any page, and have XML site maps installed to continue to have Google and Bing indexing and archiving each page of the website. The difficulty of achieving great SEO can largely depend the type of website you are trying to create. Depending on how specific of a niche or how general a category you may be geared towards.

FORT COLLINS WEB DESIGN

Search Engine Optimization

It is important to realize that staying up to date with the latest practices is a must to rank well on search engines. These practices are always changing because Google is always adapting and it isn’t so easy to trick search engines anymore to rank you higher. Consequently, It requires much more care and attention to detail.

As opposed to the older days, where “keyword stuffing” was all you needed to rank higher. The level of spam websites forced google to search for more advanced algorithms to analyze your page.

Keywords are still very useful and should be place naturally. However relevant topics related to your main topic are quickly becoming the most effective method. Truthfully, Google algorithms are accounting for so many variables nowadays, the best way to look at your website, just might be through the eyes of an English major. That is, an English Major, who also had a minor in Business.

Some important techniques I follow are Including synonyms for your keywords, an active voice and transition words. Some examples of transition words would be,  above all, finally, meanwhile,  at the same time, In conclusion, similarly, at this point, and in fact.

Learn SEO Yourself

This subject matter is about to get real so buckle up. SEO is a dirty subject matter for many reasons. When it comes to having a really great website, SEO is THE hardest subject to get reliable information on when researching techniques or methods for success. This is because the algorithms (or rules) are always changing by the giant itself, GOOGLE. These rules are not made public. Other major search engines like Bing and Yahoo follow suit with minor differences. Some search engines like DuckDuckGO do not use these rules and rank much differently. (DuckDuckGO is the only search engine that works well that doesn’t track your information or ruled by the Global Elite…) But the most important thing and  the only thing that matters is Google since statistically it is not even close when you look at the charts on who owns the space on search engines.

Good For you for continuing to read.  Before I rambled about different search engines I said they are always changing their rules. Why would Google change their algorithms so frequently? Well it is to make webmasters crazy and business owners frustrated… Well I suppose that is more of a consequence when you make something more FAIR! You see, about 10 years ago, there was a huge problem with web designers just stacking large amounts of KEYWORDS in their content artafically. Their was an algorithm back then that simply checked each website for these long tailed or short keywords and ranked the order of the sites based on who had more for the particular word in the query. This was called KEYWORD STUFFING and is a great example of why Google makes changes to their algorithms. It is to challenge cheap techniques used to artificallly boost rankings. One of the most recent changes many people still do not know about. I will tell you here since this a super long bit of content and you are awesome for continuing to read… Okay, so as recent as last year, Google rewarded websites for constantly creating new content on blog post and there were a lot of professional SEO “Experts” that advised web designers to make at least 100+ pages on a website. The claim was once you did this, you would be placed in a group of sites that receives a higher ranking. This was to be done in combination with keeping everything relevant and on topic and natural. The recent change now is that it DOESN’T MATTER how many pages you have. What matters is how VALUABLE your content is. You can have 4 pages and rank much better than a 200 page site now. That is, if people stay on your website longer, or convert higher more consistently, because your content is just so perfectly on point. Keep reading to learn the specific techniques used to optimized a website.

As you continue to read you will learn different ways to optimize your website. These techniques are actually what I will be doing to optimize your site and I am providing this information on my website for 2 reasons. First, I want you to know how to do this if you want to learn because I am self taught and love and respect people that would rather learn than pay someone. Good for you to take on this challenge. The second reason is, I believe in transparency. With SEO, transparency is super important to separate the fake SEO Experts from the real SEO Realistics. So many people claim to know how to boost your rankings but sadly I have had dozens of clients come to me and tell me horror stories of dishing out LARGE amounts of money for SEO and getting horrible results. So, by providing the specific details on my website, you can actually see for yourself that the techniques I will use, truly will make a difference. I am here explaining to you what use to worked, and what works now, and why. You will learn

XML SITEMAPS makes list of your websites URLS and submit them to website crawlers in the form of an XML file. So you get the term XML SITEMAPS. It is a map for you site essentially for search engines to use to index each one of your pages. You can submit your XML files to Google, Yahoo, and Bing monthly weekly or daily. I do daily because I want to always be indexed by the major engines to keep my SEO work frequently published. This is a powerful method to increase your SEO if you haven’t already done this. This alone can boost your ranking better than doing work on all your pages with Keyword work. But all this is really doing is showing google, bing, and yahoo your changes to your site. This is how you truly “publish” your site even after it has visually been completed. If they engines don’t know about all the work you did, all that SEO knowledge is useless. This is always set up before anymore work is done to optimize the website.

Similarly to the images, each page needs to have a keyword associated with it. Or multiple keywords. This is a technique that isn’t as effective today as it was 5+ years ago, but still needs to be done. The content on a lot of the pages can be optimized by placing some keywords naturally throughout certain pages. The most important thing is to not force this though, it needs to sound natural, so sometimes it’s better to leave certain pages alone. But still, this is another technique that can definitely help some pages right away, and in the long term help significantly. If each page is prepared correctly, over time, it will build to a higher and higher ranking. This is a long term method but helped me go to page one after the first year of my company when searching “web design Fort Collins.” Keep your BS flag on alert for this one. Keyword ranking is one of the most misunderstood topic in the SEO world because it use to be the most poweful method. IT IS NOT ANYMORE! Plain and simple, you can mistitle all your keywords on all your pages but still get great results because google still knows what your site is actually about, disregards the keywords you suggested, and instead focuses on the bounce rate, and other user engagement stats. Basically, Google grew in power, became a smarter A.I. and no longer blindly relays on Keywords to know what a site is about.

Have you ever wonder why we still use that “are you a robot” button that appears and you must select the images to see if you are human or not? This is still effective to day because most machines cannot read images directly but rather rely on what is called an ALT TAG to determine what the image is of. Search engines are a machine that cannot visually analyze an image. The alt tag needs to be related to the photo. This helps the page optimization if the alt tag is related to the keyword used on the page, and helps place your image in the correct category for google image search results. Also, a small side note, ALT-TAGS get their name because they are the alternative text that will appear if an image doesn’t lead correctly. You have probably seen this many times on broken websites. You will see a broken little square and sentence next to the broken image. That sentence is the ALT TAG.

Okay, this is a large topic but lets go over different specific rules for optimizing a page.

I remember you didn’t want to be on google maps, but you should still do this but not list your location. Just say you are located inside the united states. You can can then link this Google Business Account to your Google Analytics account.

Do you guys have a Google Analytics Account? If so, I will need the login to start to look at all the data and find ways to increase performance. I want to see the direction your traffic comes in, from where, and when. I also want to compare the bounce rate (how long people stay on the website) from before and after the new website has been made.

Google will verify that you guys are a real business when you list yourself in google business’. They will send you a verification code and this alone will boost your ranking significantly.
